What I Meant to Say - 3rd Edition

⬆⬆ See that there tag up there? ⬆⬆

Yeah, that one. Click it to participate.....or else.

Whaaaa? What do you mean "what else?!"

You really don't want to know.............

(I'm totally all talk. I wouldn't do anything. I'd just be really, really disappointed.)

When I looked at the TV and said Tony Romo, you are a *insert expletive of your choice* sorry excuse for a quarterback....

What I really meant to say was....

Tony Romo, you are no Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman!

When the prince said he was going hog hunting and I told him to have fun and be safe.....

What I really meant to say was...

Don't you dare bring any of that nasty wild hog home and expect me to eat it or serve it to the kids! You already litter my freezer with useless deer meat that I won't touch. (Except for the peppered bacon. I'll eat that.) I need room in there for good stuff....like ice cream! If I want pork chops or bacon, I'll just go to the grocery store or Costco. Oh yeah, and when did you become a big 'ol redneck?! This new love of yours is ruining my royal image!

Some of you who read my Post It's from yesterday seemed to think I was kidding about the prince going hog hunting. Here is a snip-it of video he shot yesterday.....

And I don't want to hear any crap from PETA fans. I married a man from Texas. Texans hunt. If you saw his sexy blue eyes you'd overlook his love for murdering God's creatures too.  RAWR!!

And for the record, we have no idea who that guy is that brought his VERY young child on the hog hunt! (He tagged along with someone else.) There is NO WAY I would let my boys go!! It is NOT appropriate for young eyes.

So to the man who brought his diaper wearing, pacifier sucking kid on a hog hunt....

What I really meant to say was....

Ummm, hello? Uh, yeah, is this the Department of Social Services? It is? Ok, I need to make a report.

About every man I know hunts and a lot of the women too. I have a cousin (girl) who loves to hog hunt. Me personally, its to cold and you hav e to be quiet. Plus I don't think oi could actually shoot anything that wasn't trying to hurt me.

No way I could go Hog Hunting.

I'll take some of that yummy venison out of your freezer for you! I haven't had really good venison for awhile. All I get is the crappy store stuff.

I dated a hunter once. Deer meat I can handle. That hog..well, there's your pork chops and bacon my dear! YUCK! I think that video just got me off of pork!! So glad Jews don't hunt!

The idea of hunting doesn't bother me so much, but seeing the dead animals and seeing them be prepared just puts me over the edge. Jdaddy is a hunter (bow and gun...mostly deer but some pheasant and turkey too), but I honestly don't eat much of it. Okay, I did have some pheasant noodle soup this fall...but that's it!

If you want your kids to be a hunter, that's fine, but there is no need to introduce them to it that young!

I'll take some of the deer meat off your hands. Yum!

LOL @ your last comment.

Don't kick me off the island for not participating. I had something else on my mind this week.

Ok, so two things....

1) Until I started blogging, I had no idea people still seriously hunted for food or fun. Who knew?

2) I'm never eating pork again.. not because the poor thing was tied up and sweaty under his little chinny chin chin, but because he was hairy!!! Since when are pigs hairy??? I thought they all looked like Wilbur and Babe?

Hog hunting? Deer, sure. Elk, absolutely... Hog? I refuse to buy my hubs a tag to hunt something I can easily buy prepackaged at the grocery store, lol

I grew up in TExas; you're right, they HUNT!!!
I don't know abou the kid, though. I mean, I grew up in a farm and saw chickens, cows, and pigs get killed constantly since a very young age. It wasn't a big deal. It didn't damage me. (that I know of)

Awesome! I'm glad Ivan doesn't hunt-but he watches enough sports to make up for it.

Baby on a hog hunt? I guess train 'em while their young, right? Either that or scar them for life :)

When I was in the 7th grade (100 years ago!), I told a boy that Roger Staubach was my uncle, on my mother's side! I don't like The 'Boys, but I did like Roger :)

holy crow you were serious. I didn't doubt you. You can start a PrinceSteak shop if you want and we will order. We were venisonless all year this year and the boys are going through withdrawals. so pack up a styrofoam cooler with some dry ice and ship it on up. He will never know it was gone...(ya right, it is attached like some sort of sensor. If you went to the freezer right now and touched it, it would send off a signal in his body and he would call you, "who touched my meat?")

My FIL hunts and fishes (he recently got a crossbow, it's only a matter of time before he ends up with an arrow through his foot). He is always filling our freezer with venison steaks and trout. Frankly I don't like venison and prefer my fish in fillet form.

By the way, I can show you how to change your background. It's just some cut and paste magic.

If I were Tony Romo, I think I'd change my last name.

Plus Rillowbiter sounds way cooler.

Hunting and stuff freaks me out. I cannot deal w/ this video, especially the guy who had his toddler with him--WTF?!?!!?

I try not to think about where my meat comes from. Till my brother shows me pictures of his latest catch hanging upside down on his porch.

Debbie said...

No hog hunting! I am with you. I would not want that brought home.

Lyndsay Wells said...

I'm with Kys, I like to pretend my meat was manufactured somewhere and will only eat it when it comes nicely packaged.

Loved this!

Margaret said...

Ya who really brings kids that young hunting with them.

Dee said...

Lol...I don't know if you picked up on the "cajun" part of my blog name but I'm from Louisiana (NO!! Really?) and almost every man I know there hunts, including my son. Now he did start hunting early (10-11 years old) he wasn't in diapers! Someone needs to slap the momma and the "chaps" wearing daddy of that kid! Lmao...

BNM said...

Im blessed to not have a hunter for a husband! Thank you for stopping by my blog :)

Dee said...

Oh yeah I forgot to add this...there is no way in HELL I would touch that food (hairy ass animal you killed) either! I like my meat straight out of the grocery store tyvm! Ewww...

My husband is a hunter too. I dont mind eating venison, but I dont like having to cook it.

VandyJ said...

Here in Wyoming we hunt too. My husband hunts for food. We eat deer, elk and antelope. When he can get them that is. It is called hunting not getting and this year Nick got skunked. It means we have to spend more at the store. I grew up eating wild meat and think it is great.

My boys will know about safety and all that but not til they are old enough to appreciate it. Diaper wearing is just a bit too young.

Sara @ Domestically Challenged said...

Great, great great! No pig meat here either. Or deer meat, or anything that has a bullet hole.

Corrie Howe said...

Yep, if you live in Texas...got to hunt. I had beau who hunted, but I didn't eat.

Poor Tony Romo.
