Mariachi's & Wedding Bells

This week I will be catching you all up on my nine day  enchilada binge  trip to Texas.

I had MANY blog worthy experiences in those nine days. Some I will write about, some I will show you in pictures, one will even be in video, and some.....well there just aren't words for it.

Overall, it was a fantastic trip!

How many people can spend 9 days with their in-laws and come home sad that they had to go home?

*crickets chirping*

Oh....well, I guess I'm the only one.

We started the trip with a  funeral  wedding. (KIDDING!!!)

One of the prince's best friends from high school (we'll call him Head..........which ironically is what they actually call him) married an adorably sweet little thing. We'll call her Precious. Cuz that's what she is.....absolutely precious.

I haven't gotten a chance to know her that well yet (1200 miles will do that to you), but from what I have experienced and from what everyone says behind her back......Head got lucky.

And I think Precious got lucky too. I've always said if something happened to the prince, I'd marry Head.

But in light of the wedding, I am now taking applications for that vacancy.

So far, the leading person on the list is their friend Cookie.......which is also what everyone calls him. (He keeps trying to make people call him by his real name, but the Prince can't do it. My boys looooove their "Uncle Cookie.")

Here's Head (with the white vest), the Prince (the tall one), and the old high school gang....

Former football studs of a south Texas high school....currently posing as stand-ins for the Mexican mafia...plus two token white guys.

The bride and groom....go ahead and say it.....awwwwww. :)

The wedding was beautiful and sweet.

No one passed out.

No one caught the bride's veil on fire.

No crazy mishaps to put on youtube.

(Darn...cuz ya'll know how much I like youtube.)

The reception was a blast. It was my first mexican wedding ever (we weren't invited to Snake's wedding...something about living so far away and he thought we wouldn't be able to come blah, blah, blah...more about him in another post...oh, and "Snake" is what they really call him too!) and I loved the Mariachi band! (Though I had an intense craving for chips and salsa as soon as they started playing.)

Most of the night was filled with Tejano music. At one point, the prince asked the DJ to play something for the white people to dance too. (I said, "Yeah, like some Soulja Boy or something like that!) They appeased the 12 of us whitey's with a handful of songs.

I wish I had video of some of the dancing. Michael Jackson had nothing on some of those crazies. The prince even ended up in the middle of the circle at one point and showed them all that a 6'5" ex collegiate offensive lineman can throw down.

That is a rare treat ladies and gentlemen.

It would have surely ended up on youtube!!

That's installment one of my trip. Stay tuned.....stalking Eva Longoria and the CRAZY thing that happened to me in a restaruant coming up in soon....among other things.

Glad we could introduce you to your first taste of how the "latinos" celebrate a wedding! Sorry we couldn't serve big-red... it's a reception hall rule. Blah...blah...blah...
can't wait for your next installment. Say hello to the prince.
