Oh man I am the same way with crock pot cooking. I cannot stand the aroma all day. And, I am paranoid to use it when no one is home. I know, defeats the purpose, but hey, paranoia deep destroyer.
if you want to REALLY have an affair with your crockpot. . . use the liners (sort of like a crockpotcondom). no clean up = oooo la lah!!!

I now have three crockpots. Yes, three. However, I'm going to give my mom one of them. I had to have the third because it's digital and it goes to warm based on a timer, which means that I can actually USE it when I'm at work. Yay!!
I love my crockpot! And what makes it better is the bags I now have to go in it. Less clean up! But smelling the yummy food all day is definitely torture!
When I read the crockpot one I first read it as Crackpot....still works for me either way

The snow has teased my kids for three years running. They maybe get one day sledding and then we get nothing :(

Ahhh smelling food cooking in the crockpot is the absolute worst. I used to come home before I went to the gym, but then when we started doing crock pot quite often, I had to quit coming home... bc all i would do was dip spoons into the yumminess!
I have a recipe for crotchpot chili you would adore! If you play nice I just may give it to you . . .
